Introduction
Physics and Engineeringis an academic journal which provides a communication platform for university physics teachers and students. It is supervised by Ministry of Education of China, sponsored by Tsinghua University, published by Tsinghua University Press, under the guidance of University Physics Teaching Steering Committee.
This journal, launched in 1981, is published bi-monthly and its domestic public issue number is CN 11-4483/O3. Physics and Engineering publishes new development, new trends and frontiers of physics and other interdisciplinary, and introduces the application of physics in modern engineering technology and the teaching practice for physics courses. Physics and Engineering encourages independent and objective research and advocates rigorous methodologies. It aims to explore the possible applications of physics and related disciplines, improve the level of university physics teaching, and provide services for university physics teachers and researchers.
History
In June 1980, at the official meeting of the Editorial Committee on Physics Textbooks for Higher Engineering Institutions, it was decided to launch an internal journal titled Physics Education for Engineering, and with the approval of the director for the then-Division II of the Ministry of Higher Education (now the Ministry of Education of China), Southeast University (then Nanjing Institute of Technology) was appointed to manage the journal.
In 1985, the journal was renamed as Engineering Physics and placed under the supervision of the Department of Higher Education of the State Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education of China).
In 1991, eight universities in Beijing began to jointly manage the journal, with Tsinghua University taking the lead, and the journal was granted an official publication registration number (CN 11-4483/O3) by the National Press and Publication Administration, supervised by the Department of Higher Education of the State Education Commission (now as the Ministry of Education of China), sponsored by Tsinghua University, and published by Tsinghua University Press.
In 2000, the journal was retitled as Physics and Engineering.
